Salem police continue to investigate credit card information theft
Salem police have issued the following update on their previously-reported investigation into the theft of credit card information in Salem:
The Salem Police Department continues to investigate the theft of credit card information with the assistance of State and Federal authorities. The Department is working with victims and banking institutions to determine where and how the credit card information was obtained, however this has not been determined at this point.
The public is advised to monitor their card accounts for suspicious activity and notify their bank and Police if such activity is discovered.

Yep. You better check them. Happened to my wife’s card yesterday and to both her parents cards over the past two weeks. I truly hate thieves.
I really wish they would say which stores. I do almost all of my shopping in Salem and it would be easier for me to rule myself out that way than checking every single day!
My cc # was stolen and they somehow used it to purchase gas and groceries in Unionsville, Charlottesville and Fredericksburg on July 2. Almost $400 worth. I agree w/amykay, I wish they would say which businesses were involved, I’d like to know if I do business w/them or not.
