Tunes on the Terrace every third Thursday
Salem Terrace at Harrogate is hosting “Tunes on the Terrace” every third Thursday from 6p to 8p from June to September. The first two date and bands are June 21: The Stardusters. July 19: the Bill Hoffman Quartet. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your dancing shoes.
I called Jenny Williams, who is activities director, she said “Annie, you are welcome to do your Tai-Chi demonstration and show your Chinese Culture to us”. I took my son, Jerry over there. The day was raining, they moved the event from outdoor to indoor. When we arrived the Stardusters band had already started. After the band break-time, I did my performance, first, my Tai-Chi demonstration, then I sang “Amazing Grace” in Chinese, and “Jesus loves me” in Chinese, too. I heard applauded for me after my performance. I had a group picture taken with the Stardusters. I wore my new Tai-Chi clothes, which are red with Dragons; Jerry wore his yellow with Dragon costume even though he did not participate.
Salem Terrace at Harrogate is not my work place, but I like to volunteer to show my Chinese Culture to all nursing homes. It is a good thing to help keep people happy.
