Buzz has been mounting recently about the possible closure of Fort Lewis Elementary School after the end of this school year.
According to Chuck Lionberger, spokesperson for Roanoke County Public Schools, closing Fort Lewis Elementary School is just one of many options on the table at this point.
“No decision has been made,” Lionberger stresses, and “by no means is the ‘will’ there at all,” he says of rumors that the school will close after this year.
Dr. Lorraine Lange and Penny Hodge presented several options at the Roanoke County School Board work session on Saturday, Aug. 18, for reducing the schools budget next year.
