Salem Kiwanis Club to host speaker environmental professor Robert G. Burnley on Sept. 18
The Salem Kiwanis Club would like to invite the public to the Salem Civic Center on September 18, 2012 at noon.
On September 18, 2012 at noon the Salem Kiwanis Club will host speaker Robert G. Burnley. He is an environmental professional receiving his degree and education at Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He was the Technical Services Director of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership from 1997 to 2002 and Director on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality from 2002 to 2006. He lives in Richmond and is currently an environmental professional as consultant to Virginia regarding proposed uranium mining in South East Virginia.
He assists industry and government solving existing and avoiding future environmental problems. He assists new and expanding industry select new sites, secure necessary environmental permits, advising government and industry on environmental issues of all types. Awards he has received include: Outstanding Alumnus – VCU, Joint Senate Resolution 250 – Virginia General Assembly, Lighthouse Award – Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Blue Ridge Award – Virginia Conservation Network.
