National College now offers online degree programs

People with an associate degree may qualify for online bachelor’s and MBA programs

Virginia residents that have an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university now have an opportunity to complete a bachelor’s and Master of Business Administration degree online through National College (www.national-college.edu).

“We put maximum effort into ensuring we developed an online program that incorporated all of the advantages of a National College ‘classroom’ education,” said National College President Frank Longaker. “This is not just another online program, but one that allows students to get actively involved, learn from career professionals with real-world experience, and enjoy the benefits of a small classroom environment.”

Designed for people looking to advance their careers, these e-learning programs offer the same career-focused education with personal attention from faculty and staff that National College students receive in the classroom. Each online class is limited to 25 students, to allow maximum learning and personalized attention throughout the course.

“Once you get in the classes you realize you have just as much support there as you do if you were in the classroom,” said Kathy Orton, who graduated from the online business administration-accounting degree earlier this year. As a working mother of two boys, she enrolled in the online program so she could choose her own schedule.

“The biggest difference for an online student is scheduling,” said Matt Poole, director of online programs. “Online students can choose when to go to class which offers more flexibility when balancing life’s priorities.”

In addition to the flexible schedule and personalized attention, Orton also liked the online discussion boards. “[This is where] you discuss the topic you’re studying that week; you can ask questions; you can interact with the other students that are in the class,” she explained.

Students can choose from among the following online programs:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting
  • Bachelor of Business Administration – Management
  • Bachelor of Health Care Management
  • Bachelor of Information Technology
  • Master of Business Administration

“Online students can take comfort in knowing that a move, schedule change, or any other major life change doesn’t have to affect their studies,” said Poole.
