Roanoke County school officials hold a community meeting at Fort Lewis Elementary at 6 p.m. tonight to talk about budget issues — including the possible closure of the school. (We had the original announcement here.)
Here’s an e-mail that the Fort Lewis parents group has sent out:
Reminder to all Fort Lewis Families – We have a VERY important community meeting on Wednesday night with David Wymer (our school board representative) and Lorraine Lange (superintendent of Roanoke County Schools) regarding the POSSIBLE CLOSURE of FORT LEWIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at the end of this school year.
This meeting is an opportunity for everyone in our community to come ask questions and hear the information that the school board has to present, regarding the possibility of this action being taken, due to budget cuts in the Roanoke County School division this year. We need as many people as possible at this meeting, to let the school board know how important this school is to our community!
PARENTS, PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO COME AND BRING YOUR CHILDREN TOO!!!
