Annie Lin goes Greek at Roanoke’s Greek Festival
The Greek Festival was on Friday, September 14, Saturday, September15, and Sunday, September16. I stopped by there on Friday to buy a souvenier, when I went to work. I saw my residents on their field trip. I also saw my favorite lady Pearl Fu, she sat at the front entrance to give programs away. I got a picture with her and Jay Webb, who is meteorologist at WDBJ TV station. I said “I’m so glad to see you!!!
On Saturday, I took my son, Jerry Wu over there at 11:30am. Jerry and I wore ” I love SANTORINI” T-shirts. Santorini is a island in Greece. I dressed up to look Greek. You see a shiny purple hair band, purple skirt, and two Greek dolls in the front of my body. We saw a crowd of people to get in line to buy favorite and delicious Greek food. See!!! Jerry enjoyed his plate. After, he ate, we went to the basement of the church to buy souveniers.
At 1:30 pm, we got in line for the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church tour. do you believe what we saw? Wow!!1 It was incredible inside of the church. See!!! My pictures. A pastor told all detail about the church. Before we left, we had a picture taken with the Pastor.
When we walked out of the church, someone called “Jerry”. She said “She is Assistant Administrator at Fallon Park Elementary School”. Jerry works as cafeteria aide at the school. We got pictures taken with her (Pula Beckman), she said “she will share pictures to Cynthia Delp, the school Principal”
Then, we walked to WDBJ 7 booth, Jerry got pencils, I saw Melissa Daun Gaona, who interviewed me at Virginia Veterans Parade in Roanoke 2011. I said “Hi” and asked for a picture to be taken. See!!! Jerry had a smiling face with a pretty lady, Melissa.
I got a tone of pictures. Jerry and I really enjoyed the Roanoke Greek Festival 2012. We saw old and new friends. I hope you will with us next year.
