Today is August 8, the day is Father’s Day in Taiwan.  My sister ordered a pink strawberry cake to celebrate Father’s Day, my father cut it, and ate a piece of cake, the cake was too sweet, but he really enjoyed it, we shared the cake, too. I said “Happy Father’s Day”  to him.

At 8:00am, my sister, sister-in-law, my son, Jerry and I went to the Fumao Nursing Home  to see my mother. There were celebrated Father’s Day, my sister, and sister-in-law, both dancing on the stage, We sang karaoke, and I did my Tai-Chi demonstration for everyone. My son, Jerry and his grandmother sat at the first row. The nursing home staff said “Thank you for our presentation to celebrate Father’s Day”. We had a fun day.

August 9-I rode a trai from Shuishang  to Douliu  to buy a Chinese instrument called Zhongruan at a musician’s home. The zhongruan is a Chinese plucked string instrument vaguely like a guitar. Mr.Wu Kuok Cheong  is a musician, who lives Douliu and works at The Youth Corps. His home displayed lots of differnt Chinese instruments. He and his wife taught me how to play zhongruan, the I decided to buy it and bring it back to U.S.A. I will have a new skill to show everyone beside my Tai-Chi demonstration.

A zhongruan will keep me busy and I should practice evry day. Then I will show my new skill to everyone later.

I called my oldest sister to pick me up at Shuishang train station when I got back home from Dauliu.

August 10-I received mail from the office of the President in Taiwan, Republic of China. When I opened and read it, I saw a signature picture of Ma Ying-Jeou, he is the President of Taiwan. It was a surprise to me. Wow! I shared the picture with my family, and friends in Taiwan. Of course, I will share it to everyone in the United States when I go back to the U.S.A. It was my lucky day.
