Salem High School held their Homecoming pep rally on Friday, Oct. 12. Members of the Homecoming Court were announced.
The court: Skyler Hayes, Kyle Studtmann, Payton Johnson, Mason Bader, Hannah Bryant, Kenneth Busic, Ashleigh Connor, Andrew Franklin, Shannon Dishaw, JaMal Holland, Jessica Hall, Jeremy Ledbetter, Natalie Foley, Samuel Ray Valentine, Allie Garst, Spencer Blankenship, Sarah Joy Gobble, Andrew Butts, Coraleigh Jones, Will Chisom, Ginny Lee, Chad Fisher, Kim Migliarese, Matt Hill, Abbey Nemec, Jack Maxey, Cate Pace, John Repass, Ataijah Taylor, Dylan Mitchell Wade, Amy Tuell and Matt West.
The Homecoming Prince, Princess, King and Queen were also announced at the pep rally. Prince is Samuel Ray Valentine, Princess is Coraleigh Jones, King is Spencer Blankenship and Queen is Cate Pace.
Homecoming festivities continue tonight with the Homecoming parade, which starts at the Salem Ice Cream Parlor at 6 p.m. The Pride of Salem Marching Band will lead the parade, which will head east on Main St., turn right onto College Ave., left onto the Boulevard, left onto Texas Street and into the stadium parking lot.
The big Homecoming game will follow when, at 7:30 p.m., the Spartans take on the Blacksburg Bruins.
Homecoming weekend continues on Saturday with the Homecoming Dance, which will be at the Salem Civic Center from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Representing the Class of 2016
Skyler Hayes: Escorted by her parents Jeannette and Robert Hayes. She plays soccer for the Salem Sabers and plans to play for the Salem High School team this spring. Skyler is a member of the FCA and Spanish Club.

Payton Johnson: Escorted by parents Mark and Jaime Johnson. She plays on the Salem volleyball team and plans to pursue a career in music.
Senior Escort Mason Bader: Son of Geoff and Nancy and escorted by his mother. He is a volunteer at the VA Hospital and plays on the varsity lacrosse team. Mason plans to attend college and pursue a career in pharmacy.

Hannah Bryant: Escorted by her parents Scott and Angie Bryant. She is a member of the Salem High School Chorale and plans to study engineering in college.
Senior Escort Kenneth Busic: Son of Vickie Busic and the late Anthony Busic. He was escorted by his mother and is currently studying IB and Visual Arts. Kenny’s future plans include apprenticing as an electrician.
Ashleigh Connor: Escorted by her parents Jeff and Kim Connor. She runs cross country year round and plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
Senior Escort Andrew Franklin: Escorted by his parents David and Sharon Franklin. An aspiring artist, he plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University School for the Arts.

Shannon Dishaw: Escorted by her parents Joe and Leslie Dishaw. She is a member of the SHS soccer team and plans to attend a four-year college.
Senior Escort JaMal Holland: Escorted by his parents Sherman and Vivian Holland. He is Defensive Captain of the Salem varsity football team and plans to attend a four-year college.
Jessica Hall: Escorted by her parents Jesse and Karen Hall. She enjoys volunteer work and plans to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher.

Allie Garst: Escorted by her parents Elizabeth and Michael Garst. She is on the SHS girls varsity soccer team and is president of the SCA. Allie plans to attend college after graduation.
Spencer Blankenship: Escorted by his parents Terri and Ed Blankenship. He is captain of the Salem varsity football team and was named as the second team River Ridge All District Center. After graduation from Salem High School, Spencer plans to attend college.
Sarah Joy Gobble: Escorted by her parents Katie Elmore and Mark Gobble. She is an editor for the award-winning SHS yearbook and vice-president of the SCA. Sarah plans to become a Virginia Tech Hokie.
Andrew Butts: Escorted by his parents Dennis and Leigh Ann Butts. He is captain of the Salem High School state championship golf team and SCA treasurer. Andrew plans to attend college and continue playing golf.
Coraleigh Jones: Escorted by Dennis and Mary Jones. She is on the varsity cheerleading squad, the competition team and is an intern for the ECE. Coraleigh’s future plans include majoring in early childhood education.
Will Chisom: Escorted by parents Jim and Kathy Chisom. He is a member of the SHS state championship golf team and plays on the varsity soccer team. Will’s future plans include attending a four-year university and studying pre-med.
Ginny Lee: Escorted by her parents Pattie and Tommy Lee. She dances at Roanoke College and is a Student United Way Ambassador. Ginny plans to attend Christopher Newport University and study psychology.
Chad Fisher: Escorted by his parents Jim and Judy Fisher. He is captain of the Salem varsity football team and plays on the varsity lacrosse team. Chad plans to attend college, study environmental ecology and play lacrosse.
Kim Migliarese: Escorted by her parents Tim and Kristine Migliarese. She is captain of the girls varsity basketball and soccer teams. Kim plans to attend a four-year university.
Matt Hill: Escorted by his parents James and Rhonda Hill. He is captain of the Salem varsity football and basketball teams. Matt plans to attend a four-year university and play football.
Abbey Nemec: Escorted by her parents Nancy and Douglas Nemec. Her future plans include studying to become a nurse anesthetist.
Jack Maxey: Son of Michael and Terri Maxey, he was escorted by his mother and brother Stuart Maxey. Jack is a member of the Salem state championship golf team and plans to attend a four-year university.
Cate Pace: Escorted by her parents Mike and Nancy Pace. She is captain of the SHS womens lacrosse team and was recognized as an All-American lacrosse player. Cate plans to attend Roanoke College.
John Repass: Escorted by his parents Liz and Michael Repass. He is a member of the SHS varsity basketball team and plans to attend Radford University or VCU.
Ataijah Taylor: Escorted by her parents Bridgette Joyce and Shannon Taylor. She is a leader of the SHS girls basketball team and plans to attend Wake Forest University with a full basketball scholarship.
Dylan Mitchell Wade: Escorted by his parents John and April Wade. He is a member of the state championship forensics team and senior class president. Dylan plans to attend James Madison University.
Amy Tuell: Escorted by her parents Kenneth and Kimberly Tuell. She is a member of the Keyettes and plans to attend college after graduation.
Matt West: Escorted by his parents Mitch and Kathy West. He is a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams and has earned All-State track honors. Matt plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a career in law.
