Spartan Square Shopping Center to host Haunted Clinic and Family Night on Tuesday, Oct. 30
Several businesses in Spartan Square Shopping Center will host a family night and Haunted Clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the courtyard of the shopping center.
Some businesses will have Halloween-themed booths while families enjoy attractions like face painting, clowns, balloon animals, candy and treats, a costume contest, a blind walk, prizes, corn hole, a scavenger hunt and a Mummy Race. The biggest draw, though, might be the Haunted Clinic at Kennedy Chiropractic. The clinic will be closed to usual patients on Oct. 30 while Pat Kennedy and his staff decorate their 1,500 sq. ft. space.
Kennedy has always loved Halloween, he says. He grew up in Salem–Salem, Mass., that is! You can bet that the site of the former witch trials really gets into Halloween. Kennedy says he had fun as a kid going to the Halloween attractions each year. “There’s a lot of history there. It was so much fun growing up. I miss that for kids these days,” he says.
Which is exactly why he pulled together this event for area families. He and his staff chose the day before Halloween so the event wouldn’t interfere with families’ trick-or-treating plans. He also wanted to create a safe place where kids and their families could enjoy Halloween.
“You don’t know what’s out there these days,” Kennedy said of possible dangers during Halloween. “We just want to do something good for the community.”
The Haunted Clinic and Family Night are free and open to the public from 6:30 to 9 p.m. If you have questions or would like to learn more, call 540-375-9220.
