After about a month of planning, Salem Fitness, located at 35 Spartan Drive in Salem, made a transition to new ownership, effective Aug. 1. New owners are Ronny Angel and longtime Salem Fitness member Gene Nervo.

A few changes come along with the new ownership, according to manager Nancy Francis, who has worked at Salem Fitness for four years, she says. Salem Fitness has added some new instructors and several new classes like Power Pump, Step Interval and Cardio Combat, which join favorites Zumba, Zumba Gold and more.

Salem Fitness is also a Silver Sneakers provider, Francis says. Silver Sneakers is a program through Humana for “people with previous health conditions and limitations,” according to Francis.
