Head-on collision closes Catawba Valley Road; now re-opened
Roanoke County police advise us:
Roanoke County Police are working a serious traffic crash in the 5400 block of Catawba Valley Drive. This is a head-on collision that occurred shortly after 4 p.m.
Police expect the road will be closed to traffic in both directions for at least two hours. Right now, officers are working to establish detours.
Sgt. K. Schirmer is at the scene and will provide more information later this evening.
The Roanoke Times will be posting updates here.
UPDATE, 7:43 p.m.: Police say the road has now reopened and they will issue a report on the accident later.
