Roanoke County police run active-shooter drill at Glenvar middle and high schools
Roanoke County police this morning are conducting a training exercise at Glenvar middle and high schools to prepare for the possibility of an active-shooter situation.
County spokeswoman Teresa Hamilton Hall said the drill was initially scheduled in October, months before the Dec. 14 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
