Annie Lin’s Christmas in downtown Salem
After Jingle Bell Run event, we went back home. I stopped in Downtown Salem. That was the day of the Christmas event as Santa Claus visited in Salem Library. Jerry likes Santa, he believes Santa is in the world, he carried his Christmas gifts list to Santa, he wishes Santa will bring all of his stuff from North Pole to him.
We stood in the long line, when Jerry saw Santa, he said “I see you every year.” Jerry gave a piece of paper to Santa, and showed his talking hat with Santa upside down feet on. Everyone laugh…Then we went outside and saw Salem High School’s choir students. They sang Christmas carols in front of the library. I asked them for a group picture. I saw someone take my picture, they liked my Christmas outfit.
Then we walked down the farmer’s market to take picture of the giant Christmas tree, and a picture with Santa hung in the air at the store. I like it.
After, we went to the Longwood Park to see Gingerbread Festival. A lady came to us, and said “I know Jerry.” I asked her name, she said, “Ann Mcghee from Fallon Park Elementary School.” She asked us for a picture taken. I was so glad to meet a new friend. Someone asked me for a picture take, she said “I like your Christmas style.” We had a picture with the Gingerbread man. We saw people roasting marshmallows beside Salem Terrace at Harrogate booth. Do you know that Salem Terrace is managed by Friendship Retirement Community? I met Julie Abernethy. She said, “You can come to show and tell about Chinese culture in February (Chinese New Year)!” Wow! a special day to meet new friends. Merry Christmas!!!
