Dream Bowl at Salem Stadium announced for January 21
On January 21, 2013, Salem, Virginia proudly known as the “City of Championships” will play host to the inaugural Dream Bowl at Salem Stadium. The Dream Bowl will feature the best D3 football players from around the country as they travel to Salem, along with family and friends.
The Dream Bowl Organization has made a commitment to the Roanoke Valley and will hold additional D3 All-Star Games, starting in May, in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s soccer. Each of these events will also have a corresponding high school tournament with teams from the Roanoke Valley and beyond.
The Dream Bowl Organization through its efforts in the community has extended invitations to many of the local youth groups in the Roanoke Valley including the Boy Scouts, United Way and the YMCA and is proud to announce a partnership with the Total Action Against Poverty program based in Roanoke. Youth volunteers from Total Action Against Poverty will assist in providing first-class services for all guests at Salem Stadium. The Dream Bowl Organization is happy to have the assistance of these youngsters. In addition to the All-Star game, a flag football game involving the youth athletes of the Roanoke recreation department will take place prior to kickoff. A Kids Zone will be set up at Salem Stadium (10-2pm) for children of all ages to have some fun in football themed activities. Janine Stange, the National Anthem Girl, will be singing the national anthem. She is currently touring the country, singing the Anthem in all 50 states to promote patriotism.
The festivities begin at 10 o’clock on January 21, 2013. Come out and be a part of history as we celebrate football, community, and sportsmanship.
