Landscape Store coming to Salem

Rudd Peters’s operation on Cloverdale Road is opening another Landscape Store in Salem.

Salem community members with a green thumb will be able to bring in spring with some help from the Landscape Store new location. The premiere location is located in Botetourt County on Cloverdale Road.

A second store will open this spring on Kessler Mill Road. Rud Peters, co-owner of the Cloverdale store, said that the Salem store was located near a large population and would hopefully draw people to it.

“We want to sell landscaping to the Salem community and that area of Roanoke,” said Peters. “It’s not focused at new homes, but existing homes. Our new location is concentrated in that area.” The Botetourt location has been very successful even during a down economy.

The new location will include a variety of different landscaping materials, keeping everything stocked and maybe including a few extras as well.

“We’re basing [materials sold] on trial-and-error,” Peters said. “With any new area, you have to see what will sell. Then we’ll go from there.”
