Middle school student attends US Navy Sea Cadet Corps Recruit Training
Kris Wagher shares Logan Wagher’s story:
Logan Wagher is a 13 year old 8th grade, honor student at Andrew Lewis Middle School. He recently
attended the US Navy Sea Cadet Corps Recruit Training (aka bootcamp) at Camp Pendleton, VA – from 12/27 – 1/4
and successfully graduated at Oceana Naval Air Station, as a proud member of the Honor Company Bravo.
He has been a member of the Overlord Division out of Lynchburg, VA since he was 10 years old and because
he aspires to be a Navy pilot one day, he joined the US Navy League Cadets, rising to the rank of PO3 (petty officer 3rd class).
On his 13th birthday this year, he advanced to the US Navy Sea Cadet level of the program for the 13 – 17 year old recruits.
Logan has received a number of awards including: gun safety; expert marksmanship; academic ribbon; and boater safety license to name a few.
He is the son of Scott and Kris Wagher, and the older brother to Devin (a student at South Salem Elementary School)
Logan drills one weekend a month with his unit while maintaining his grades; is an active member of student council; and plays
basketball for the Salem Parks & Rec league.
We are SUPER proud of Logan and his very responsible decisions he continues to make in regard to his future. He gave up his entire Winter break to attend his training – during that time – no electronics are allowed (tv, video games cell phones etc); he attended class; he also had daily PT and very rigorous training. We would just like to highlight his accomplishment.
