Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation to host Downton Abbey premiere party

The Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation (RVPF) will celebrate the broadcast premiere of the award winning series ‘Downton Abbey’ on Masterpiece, Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Patrick Henry Ballroom.

Sponsored in part by Cityscape LLC, Hollins University, and Bella Magazine, the ‘Premiere Party’ will include themed hors d’oeuvres; cash bar featuring locally crafted wine and beer; vintage photo booth; trivia contest; costume contest; and $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win fabulous prizes.  Prizes include an overnight getaway to Santillane Bed & Breakfast in Fincastle, Va; an overnight getaway to the Inn on Campbell Bed & Breakfast in Roanoke; Va; a Grandin Village themed gift basket including items from the Roanoke Natural Foods Co-op, Local Roots, Grandin Theatre, and Viva la Cupcake; and ‘Downton Abbey’ seasons one and two on DVD.

‘Downton Abbey’ on Masterpiece and the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation are natural companions.  At the heart of the series is the story of stewardship of a beloved estate.  Like the Crawley family, the RVPF has dedicated their efforts to the preservation and stewardship of the historic, natural, and cultural resources that can be found throughout the Roanoke Valley.  Since its inception in 1988, RVPF’s consistent involvement and advocacy has resulted in increased public awareness and successful preservation projects throughout the Valley.

Tickets for the event are only $25 and may be purchased on-line at www.roanokepreservation.org or www.rvpfpremiereparty.eventbrite.com. All proceeds benefit the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation.  ‘Downton Abbey’ on Masterpiece is broadcast by Blue Ridge PBS.
