The Salem Host Lions Club collected Toys for Tots during their annual Christmas banquet at the Salem Civic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The club collected over 40 toys which were received by Staff Sargent Gentry, Staff Sargent Portis and Corporal Shields.
Over the past year the club has donated over $90,000 dollars back to the community through scholarships and donations to schools and various community groups. These funds were earned by members volunteering over 2,680 hours working the concession stand at the Salem High School football stadium. In addition to monetary donations the club has provided food donations to the Salem Food Pantry and Samaritan Inn. The club is looking forward to another year of service.
If you are interested in joining or attending a meeting please contact the Membership Chair, Bill Powell at 389-7078 or wpowell102@aol.com. The Salem Host Lions Club meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Salem Civic Center at 6:30 p.m.
