Salem Montessori collects books for African Library Project
The Primary & Elementary students of the Salem Montessori School, in conjunction with the “African Library Project”, collected 1000 books to start a library in Ghana. The students helped to sort, count, and package the books.
Additionally, the students held two “Read-a-Thons” in November & December to raise $500 to pay for shipping the books to Ghana.

These young children who are just learning to read themselves are already global literacy activists, learning that much of the world does not enjoy the same resources we do in the USA. What a wonderful education they are getting at Salem Montessori!
