A service will be held for Michael Sandridge on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 42. E. Main St. in Salem. Sandridge passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, after a battle with testicular cancer.

Glenvar High School students wore purple in support of Sandridge on Thursday, Jan. 17. Fellow Glenvar High School students and friends of Sandridge, Andrew McClung and Drew Norris, are selling purple “Find Your Strong” t-shirts, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Sandridge’s family. Additionally, local Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia representatives helped to fulfill Sandridge’s wish of new weight equipment for the Glenvar High School football team. Sandridge was kicker for the JV team last year.
