VDOT holds information meeting Jan. 22 on 11/460 project in western Roanoke County
SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold citizen information meetings to gather input for studies taking place for a portion of Route 11/460 in Montgomery and Roanoke counties and the Town of Christiansburg.
The citizen information meeting for Route 11/460 will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Elliston Volunteer Fire Department, 5001 Enterprise Drive in Elliston. This study will encompass a 17-mile section of Route 11/460 from Interstate 81 at exit 118 to Technology.
The meeting will be an “open-house” format between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. with a formal presentation taking place at 6 p.m.
The studies will focus on operations, access management and safety. They will also develop alternatives and recommendations for transportation improvements based on traffic projections through the year 2035. Input from the community regarding the existing and future traffic conditions, especially from those who travel or live and work in the areas, is extremely important to the success of the studies.
Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this hearing may contact Jay Guy at 540-387-5228, 800-367-7623 or TTY/TDD 711.
