On Saturday, March 9, from 7 to 11 p.m. there will be a benefit dance and show in honor of Salem’s Jenny Mays DeLorenzo at Mountain View Center (the old Fishburn home), located at 714 13th St. SW in Roanoke.

The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a silent auction. Music will be provided by the William Penn Band and the Smith-Wade Band. Dress is casual dressy to dressy.

DeLorenzo is in need of a kidney transplant, a surgery which will cost her $25,000 out of pocket. According to DeLorenzo’s personal page on the National Foundation for Transplants website, as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, DeLorenzo’s donations had totaled $19,744.85.
