Roanoke College FEMMES to host 3rd annual event on Saturday, March 23
Roanoke College FEMMES co-presidents Brooke Conrad and Kelsey Greene share the following release:
FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science) is a student-run organization that hosts educational outreach programs related to math, science and engineering for 4th-6th grade girls from Salem, Va. public schools.
We encourage the girls to explore their potential in math, engineering, and science through an annual, free-of-charge, one-day capstone event. Through FEMMES, female Roanoke undergraduates and faculty members volunteer their time to instill enthusiasm about their careers in the developing minds of young women. The Roanoke students form personal relationships with the participants of our programs and have a positive influence on the girls’ views of women in math, engineering, and science.
We are proud to announce that we will be hosting our third annual FEMMES event on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Roanoke College. We strongly urge you to sign up your daughter and pass on this email to a friend! You can find out more about this event by visiting our Facebook page and sign up for the event online here.
