A couple who moved to Roanoke from Charlotte, N.C. this summer are opening a menswear store in South Roanoke.
That was the news from Sunday’s Retail Roundup column.
Jody Fleming and his wife Becky Garland are preparing their store, Garland’s, in the Crystal Spring neighborhood for a mid-August opening, they said.
They’ll specialize in tailored clothing and plan to carry a large selection of American-made clothing.
The couple said they both have extensive experience in the retail and clothing industry.
You might recognize the the building on the sign in the picture on the left. Becky Garland’s father owned Garland’s Drugs on Grandin Road. She and Fleming used an old photo of the drug store to advertise their new store.
Also in Sunday’s column was information about Roanoke Railhouse Brewery opening a small retail space where they’ll sell their signature beers in growlers and bottles.
