Walmart isn’t allowing reporters or photographers inside the store, which started its sales at 10 p.m.
The parking lot was full and just after 10 p.m. shoppers pushing carts loaded with goods exited the store.
Sheryl Smith drove to Walmart from Clifton Forge with her daughter and granddaughter. They arrived a 8 p.m., filled their cart with toys, and then had to spend more than an hour browsing the store and battling crowds before they could get in line for the sales prices.
“It was awful,” Smith said of the crowding in the store.
Photographer Sam Dean and I are about to hit the Target and Best Buy crowd. Those stores open at midnight.
