Polished by Claire V. opens store, plans new spa in southwest Roanoke County (with photos)
The owner of Polished by Claire V. has opened a store at The Shoppes at West Village in Southwest Roanoke County and has plans to open a full service spa there early next year.
Unlike the downtown Polished, which offers manicures, pedicures, massages and waxing, the Roanoke County store is exclusively retail. It sells Bare Minerals makeup, Claire V. handbags, jewelery, Polished brand nail polish and more. The store opened this week.
Owner Laura Godfrey told me she wanted to establish a presence at the shopping center before the holidays and that she hopes to open a full spa in a vacant space next to Paper Chocolate by March.
The retail store, next to Frame Connection, is in the the space where makeup boutique and hair salon Kira Kira was located until it closed this summer.

Did she indicate when the spa in Blacksburg would open?

@cole78: Laura said yesterday it’s running behind schedule because of delays with permits and construction, but we didn’t talk about when it might open. I’ve left a message with her this morning to get more info for you.

This is great news! I love the downtown Polished and won’t have to drive so far now when I want their level of service. The ladies that work in the salon are super nice and actually have a CONVERSATION with you while they are doing your nails unlike most other places, and the manis/pedis last a lot longer than most salons’ work.

@cole78: Just got off the phone with Laura. Those construction problems I mentioned? They’re trying to figure out if it’s something they can fix quickly – or not. That’s why Laura doesn’t have an opening date right now, although she said it could be from 4 to 10 weeks from now, depending on what happens.

Amanda, What is Remini’s in Brambleton Plaza?
Comment by barbara moeller — November 9, 2011 @ 1:37 pm
@barbara moeller: Remini’s is an Italian restaurant. Its website says it serves “classic italian to good old fashioned cheesy burgers with a flair.” I haven’t spoken yet with owner and chef James Ferrone, but I suspect that I or food writer Lindsey Nair will do soon.
