Retail Roundup: New Bojangles’ coming to U.S. 220
A franchisee is opening his sixth Bojangles this year on U.S. 220 in Southwest Roanoke County.
Stan Seymour already owns five of the area’s Bojangles’ restaurants. He’s building the new restaurant just south of Outback Steakhouse on land that’s he owned for about five years.
He said he didn’t consider building on the site until Walmart moved from the Hunting Hills Shopping Plaza south to Clearbrook. Seymour said the traffic that the new Walmart draws to Clearbrook will be a boon for the restaurant.
Construction on the 3,500 square-foot building is expected to begin within 90 days.
Also, Seymour’s Vinton Bojangles’ is getting a remodel. You can read more about the new restaurant and the Vinton remodel in Sunday’s Retail Roundup column.

Funny, Stan was complaining a few months ago about a Chick-Fil-A being built in Salem near his Bojangles. Now he is building near a Chic-Fil-A. Go figure.

Whoever manages the 220 CFA should petition the County BZA to delay his project 6 months. I’m sure there’s something one could find to reciprocate his goose hunt.

To all those out there who claim the evil Walmart drives everyone out of business;
It is obvious Walmart actually stimulates more development.

Good for you, Stan Seymour! Ignore all the negativity! Let your haters be your motivators!
And laugh all the way to the bank!

What is Southwest County turning into?
Why not build a new Hardees or better yet a KFC, maybe even a Popeyes?
