Roanoke area nTelos stores will open at 7 a.m. Friday for the wireless carrier’s first day of iPhone sales.

The iPhone 4S will sell for $150, $49 less than AT&T, Verizon and Sprint charge. A two-year contract is required.

nTelos stores in the area are located at 1382 Towne Square Boulevard in Roanoke, 3940 Valley Gateway Boulevard in Bonsack, and 1338 W. Main Street in Salem.

nTelos announced earlier this month it had reached an agreement with Apple to begin selling the iPhone. The devices were previously only available at the nation’s largest carriers, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

nTelos, based in Waynesboro, has about 400,000 customers in Virginia, West Virginia and portions of Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky.

I swear I have seen a new nTelos store sign up at the vacant space at Towers Mall beside Chipotle, but yet I have heard no news of them opening up a new store. Can you look into this or am I just imagining this?

@Roa10: You are not imagining it. nTelos is opening a store at Towers. Their spokesman saw this blog post and left me a voicemail Friday about the new store. I’ve been out of the office on assignments much of today so I haven’t had a chance to call him back. I’ll get more details for you.
