UPDATED: Ulta Beauty is hiring in Roanoke, but no confirmation of a store opening

Update: Carolyn Sutphen with Ulta sent me an email this afternoon that says she cannot confirm a store opening. Here’s what she said:

I am sorry but at this time I do not have any information about ULTA opening in this location. Please check back in 6 weeks to see if additional information is available.

End update

It’s been rumored for several months that Ulta Beauty is opening a store in Roanoke.

Today, I am one step closer to confirming that.

According to job postings on Ulta’s website, the company is looking for managers to run a Roanoke store. And, this Career Builder job posting says the store is located at 4802 Valley View Boulevard, which is the address for Valley View Mall.

I left a voicemail and sent an email to Ulta’s public relations department this afternoon. They haven’t responded yet. I’m also trying to get in touch with the mall’s general manager who is out of the office until Friday.

Ulta Beauty sells a wide variety of makeup, skincare, haircare, and bath and body products. You can check the extensive list of brands they carry here.

I’ll be back with an update if I learn more about a Roanoke store opening.

Had heard some time back that a cosmetic store was going in the A&F space so I bet that is where it is going. To bad it is not Sephora or Bananna Republic. Now that would be something to get excited about!!

They have also been going around to other local salons and trying to hire employees away… Not a great way to make friends in a new community.

Ulta may not be Sephora but it’s the next best thing! This is great news. I think Ulta will do well at Valley View – their selection covers everything from drug store brands to higher end brands! Plus they always have great promotions going on – I do have to wonder if they’ll carry Bare Minerals products and if so, how that’s going to affect the BE store’s sales.

We have an Ulta in Cary NC and it is great. Very helpful assistants and a wonderful variety of products in every price point. If I want to try a new look or product, they will help me with application or answer any questions I have. The rewards program is well worth the time it takes to fill out the application. I use rewards to treat myself to products outside my daily budget. Many of the same products your salon or spa carry are at Ulta and the price point is much less. The Ulta makeup products are very good and samples are always available. I hope you will enjoy your store as much as I enjoy mine.

My daughter and I have shopped at the Ulta store in Richmond (I have been twice within the past 2 years) and I love their selection! The shelves are well stocked and well maintained and the customer service is good. The prices on most of their items are very competitive and they do change out their perfume lines to coincide with a particular season of the year. All in all I was very impressed and we always look forward to visiting when in Richmond.

While I would much rather have a Sephora, Ulta will do!!

I was stocking up in the Richmond store last weekend, and the clerk waiting on me told me Ulta is opening a store in Roanoke in September! I prefer Ulta over Sephora and will be happy to see them come to Roanoke.

If we can’t get a Sephora I will be thrilled to get an Ulta!!

I love Ulta. The store would be a great addition to our region.

I agree with several other posters — I’d love a Sephora but I’ll definitely take an Ulta. I just visited the one in Charlottesville recently and was delighted to pick up products I normally have to get in Sephora. Philosophy and Benefit are two of my favorite brands. Excited to see this store opening in Roanoke.

Would love to see a Sephora storefront open. Larger dept. stores would NOT like it. Thats why the internet is a great place to shop.
Ulta will be nice to visit, since I love cosmetics.

This is exciting news, I love Ulta. I make trips to the one in Shortpump whenever I get the chance. I was not as impressed with Sephora, but it was in a mall and seemed small and didn’t carry as much. I can’t wait and hope it becomes a reality!

I’m so excited, it’s rumored to be opening in November. I love Sephora too, and usually where an Ulta exists, a Sephora isn’t too far behind. Sometimes though, if you go into a Sephora without makeup on, they follow you like you’re trying to steal the products. Ultas are much more chilled out. :)
