One's perception is surely their reality.

Personally I think Towers Kroger does a great job by dwelling on it's assets. It's a manageable size store, without all the furniture nonsense. The check out personnel are mostly seasoned with good attitudes, plus, what other Kroger in the area actually unloads your shopping cart for you?

As to smells, that can be a real challenge, especially with all the input from such a mixture of goods & materials, packaging, and people...

I hope they plan to do something about the smell of the Rutgers Kroger... It smells like an open sewer when you walk in (especially in the summertime)! I'll actually drive a few miles to another Kroger to avoid it it's so bad. The store itself appears okay, but I can't stand the smell! When I'm short on time and I resort to going there anyway, I literally hold my breath when I walk in (and I'm not usually a sensitive person like that!). I'm always dumbfounded that nobody there seems to notice!

The Blacksburg Kroger on University City Blvd. is getting some minor work done. The customer service desk is getting bumped out into the parking lot, plus some other work (not sure what, but I hope they will re-work the stupid entrance doors that haven't been right since the last remodel). Perhaps they will finally enlarge the pharmacy, which has also been mentioned as being in the works for some time. For the business that store does, it almost needs to be flattened and built from scratch :-)
