Creations Gift Shoppe once located in the Roanoke City Market Building, then moved to Buchanan with the Market’s closing, has decided to close its doors citing economic difficulties.
Creations will be liquidating all merchandise, including Roanoke photos, frames, T-Shirts, magnets, jewelry and other store inventory with prices as low as $1, said the shop’s co-owner, Francine Bray.
One of the store’s most popular items are photographs reproduced on gold-tone metal, Bray said. Some of the larger “art on gold” pieces are priced up $100. With the closing sale, the art will be discounted to 75 percent.
“With this economy that’s a luxury item,” she said. “As the economy becomes more depressed people just aren’t spending money on things like that as much.”
Bray and her husband, Kenneth Bray, will focus their attention on their other business, Glow-A-Rama, an 18-hole black light and mini-golf destination on Main Street in Buchanan. They also run a teen night club located inside Glow-A-Rama called Studio 198.
The couple plan to open a small gift shop with merchandise to compliment Glow-A-Rama, including glow necklaces, bracelets, paint, children’s glow golf clubs, coloring books and T-Shirts.
“Art on gold” will be available for purchase online after the store’s closing, Bray said.
