Wing Boss is open too! Pretty good wings. The boneless are not breaded like a lot of other places are. I also went to Cook Out on the day they opened. Their shakes are great!

Agree with Jack. Roanoke is starved for new places to eat and shop. We are so slow to get anything good in this town. It is embarasing for a city this size. If developers would just take a chance in bringing in some big names here they would be sucessful! Kristen you must live in the dark ages if you think Roanoke is not starved for progression!! Just look at cities our size and smaller for that matter!!

I’m sorry for your loss, Amanda. I hope you were able to have a nice Christmas.

On a different note, I find the huge lines for new restaurants ridiculous. I love to eat and I love to check out new restaurants, but seriously, people lining up like their waiting for concert tickets is just silly. It’s not like the places are an open one day only deal.

The lines at Cook Out were unbelievable!! It reminded me of the huge crowd on opening day at Panera Bread 419, Fresh Market. It is a reminder that Roanoke is starved literally for new chain restaurants. There are so many that still are absent here in start contrast to nearby cities. Whole Foods would be a big hit on lower level of Towers, btw! I guess proof is in the pudding!

@MikeD: I know the Vinton Bojangles was supposed to be getting a renovation, but I have no idea if that’s what is going on now. I thought the work was happening earlier this year.
