A new print and copy shop has opened in Salem.
Dandy Printing and Copy opened several weeks ago at Lakeside Plaza. The shop is located between Kroger and Great Clips.
George Kando and his son, Michael Kando, run the business. They had a similar business in New York, where they moved from four years ago. The Kandos now live in Salem.
George Kando said he decided to get back into the business because Salem didn’t have a print shop. (Note: Salem does have print shops, such as Salem Prining on Iowa Street; the Roanoke College Print Shop; the UPS Store on W. Main Street; Valley Printers on Dillard Drive off Apperson Drive; Fast Signs on W. 4th Street; and M & P Printing on W. Main Street. If I’ve left any out please let me know.)
Dandy offers a variety of services including:
- Black and white and color copies
- Business cards
- Carbonless forms
- Wedding invitations
- Post cards
- Mailing services
- Rubber stamps
Dandy also prints pictures and logos on T-shirts and provides faxing services.
Another print shop, Minuteman Press, opened several months ago about six miles away in Cave Spring. That print shop offers similar services. You can read more about it in this Retail Roundup column.
