What caught my eye: What didn’t! When I was up shooting street style in New York this past January, a strange phenomenon would happen on the sidewalks of midtown Manhattan. The crowds would part like the Red Sea, making a public runway for whichever blindingly beautiful fashion goddess was making her way at that moment.
Ali reproduced this effect on the campus of Virginia Tech, literally stopping traffic as I was taking her photo. Her outfit was stunning, she’s stunning and she’s about to be a college grad — her parents have a lot to be proud of.

Lovely! I love the bright pink
Her makeup is pretty too, just enough to highlight her already nice features without piling it on. Excellent photo too, her dress really stands out next to the grey stone.
SHE’S GORGEOUS!! You found a good one, David! I love how her dress just pops! Beautiful eyes, too. Very pretty girl!
A true BEAUTY! Achingly gorgeous! Good eye, Mr. Verde! Keep up the great work!
Beautiful and I love the dress.
No doubt she’s gorgeous and so’s her outfit. But parents who have a lot to be proud of? I hope she’s also a nice person who has more going for her than great looks, fashion, and college graduate status.
That said, this is an excellent picture and an obvious Style Street hit.
Alison was an excellent student. And yes her parents have a LOT to be proud of – Alison just graduated from the 15th ranked program (Apparel Product Development and Merchandising Management)in the world, and from Virginia Tech. One of the best students in every class she was in that I taught.
It is not all about “fashion” tho that is a part. Product development covers such items as those articles of clothing our first responders wear, protective clothing for cleanroom workers, protective clothing for those who fight fires, surgical wear, military uniforms and specialtywear for equipment operators, and the list goes on and on and one…
Thank you for letting me vent a bit.
@Peggy, I’m glad you spoke up! I’ve actually met Ali several times and always impressed with her. I’m also glad you shared a bit what the Fashion and Merchadising department at VT offers. I’d love to get a tour of your department sometime.
