Has it gotten cold, or is it just me?
This time last year, I still didn’t have to bundle up that much because it was so warm.
That is not the case right now – I’m already walking on the sunny side of the sidewalk because walking in the shade in downtown Roanoke can get a bit breezy.
Scarves, coats, boots and gloves are out, so the style on the street has changed along with the fall foliage.
There is always a transition time once fall really kicks in. People seem to hold out on pulling out their stylish cold-weather gear for a few weeks so you see a lot of cold weather sportswear first. I guess everyone tries to hold off crawling into the attic to get out the winter clothes.
I’m hoping for lots of color, layering and happy cold weather lovers this month. Here’s to November everyone!

no offense man, but you kinda suck at keeping this blog updated
@Ben, unfortunately I can’t shoot street style 5 days a week, it would be fun if that could be a full-time job don’t you think? Only in New York. I travel quite a bit in the fall and winter since I have the most free time then. Its also less crowded on the streets once the cold kicks in so its the name of the game i guess.
To my defense, I post twice a week most weeks but always get you 5-8 posts per month. Blogging ain’t easy my friend! Don’t fret, I’ll have some new posts for you this upcoming week.
I understand, but do you not take a photo of more than ONE person in two weeks time?! I mean there’s plenty of attractive or interestingly-dressed people out and about even in cold weather. Even during warm weather your posts got sparse at times. So your job is to wander about and have a whopping 5 pictures/people for an entire month? Come on man, I have a hard time believing there isn’t more out there for such a great length of time….If you can’t keep a blog updated with reguarly-occuring fresh content, you shouldn’t have one at all.
@Ben, again, I travel a lot during this time of year.
That being said, I’ve said it before to others, Your welcome to join me on a walk sometime and see how much time goes into getting even one photo.
Ben you’re right. But it’s a one-horse town.
@Tass, we’ve had this conversation before. Want to see how much time it takes to get photos sometimes? The invite is always open to join me on the street.
David I am not interested in joining you on the street or anywhere else, and your repeated “oh but it’s so haaaaaarrrrrrrdddddddd” is ridiculous. This blog is your job, and your defensiveness in response to any criticism from any quarter is strange considering the fact that it’s a public blog sponsored by a newspaper.
