chris dodd full 400Name:  Chris Dodd

How would you describe your personal style? “Kind of like ‘Mad Men’ style, I like Joel McHale, I’d call it old-school men’s fashion.”

What’s this outfit’s signature piece? “My pocket square.”

Where to get it: Express

Occupation: Account executive at Neathawk Dubuque and Packett

Age: 28

Location: Kirk Avenue, Roanoke

Date: Monday March 4, 2013

Time: 2:25 p.m.

What caught my eye: Modern but not too slim, very appropriate work attire happening here.

Chris is following a few of my men’s style rules as well — always pair your suit coat or sports coat with something in the pocket, and pop the coat collar when it’s cold and you’re short a scarf to keep your neck warm.chris dodd close up 400

Very nice but do you think his suit jacket is a little too big/long? Looks like a lot of extra fabric around his midsection.

    You stay classy, Roanoke

@Meg, I think I can agree with you here. His coat is at that fine line of traditional length and modern cut. As far as extra fabric, I think almost every man in our area could use a bit more tapering in the waste of their suit coats, me included.

Aside of a few nitpicks, Chris is defiantly the best suited man I’ve seen downtown in a while.

About this blog

Welcome to The Roanoke Times' Style Street blog where I, David Verde, will share my street fashion finds from around Southwest Virginia.

How do I do it? I go on a walk with my camera, and when I find people I think look stylish or unique, I stop them and ask if I can take their picture. Although people can be hesitant, nervous and sometimes blush, most say yes.

I make regular visits to Lexington, Blacksburg, Roanoke, Radford, Lynchburg and Friday night jamborees in Floyd. If you see me out, feel free to say hi and pose.

Email me anytime, and follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
