What a year! It’s July, which means it’s time to celebrate another Style Street birthday.
Although the start of 2013 has been keeping me off the streets because of numerous rainy days, I feel I’ve got into a good groove capturing the standout street style roaming the sidewalks of Southwest Virginia.
One perk to have spent the last two years stomping the streets: I don’t have to explain who I am and what I’m doing as often when stopping people for photos. That means I have more readers and fashion lovers in the area than I thought, which is awesome.
This past year has shown quite a growth phase in our area for fashion. More people are getting excited about fashion and pushing the limits of personal style, breaking the conservative trends that traditionally has dominated this part of the country.
I hope to keep showing off the great style that is present and far from standard here in Southwest Virginia. If anyone has ever thought we’re behind the times, they are far from knowing the truth — and now we have two years of proof.
Have a street style tip? I’m always looking for the best day, events and areas that offer up the most foot traffic to choose from. Drop me an e-mail to let me know where I should go hunting for street style next.
