About Angel David Verde’s Style Street

Angel David Verde is based in Blacksburg and runs an entertainment company, DMV Entertainment.

Though he was born in Central America and has traveled extensively due to his service in the U.S. Air Force, David grew up in Buena Vista and considers Southwest Virginia his home.

One of his hobbies is photography, and he was inspired many years ago by Bill Cunningham of The New York Times, whose “On the Street” photo column captured interesting street fashion.
David started taking photos of his own and posting them to his blog, angelspov.com.

In The Roanoke Times’ “Style Street,” David shares some of his favorite photos of 21st century street fashion, from the classic to the eccentric. David shoots with a CanonĀ 5D MII DSLR with Canon prime lenses.

His photos also run once a month in the Extra section of The Roanoke Times.

About this blog

Welcome to The Roanoke Times' Style Street blog where I, David Verde, will share my street fashion finds from around Southwest Virginia.

How do I do it? I go on a walk with my camera, and when I find people I think look stylish or unique, I stop them and ask if I can take their picture. Although people can be hesitant, nervous and sometimes blush, most say yes.

I make regular visits to Lexington, Blacksburg, Roanoke, Radford, Lynchburg and Friday night jamborees in Floyd. If you see me out, feel free to say hi and pose.

Email me anytime, and follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
