Mark Brittain sent a report from the 12-year-olds playing in Bowling Green. They had won their first game Friday with a score of 9-2 over Lee County East (District 13; CSALL is District 12). Highlights include Avery Pierce pitching a 14 strikeout effort in six innings for the victory and a three-run home run by first baseman Brett Myers.

Bette Brand sent pictures from the first game the 10-year-olds played. They lost to District 9 (Dale City, Dumfries District) during a hot afternoon game with a score of 12-6. They were looking forward to their next game. “Our boys are showing a lot of heart, having a lot of fun playing ball and trading pins,” she said.

Kathy Innacelli sent updates from games involving the Juniors. Their first game was Friday morning. She writes: “It was a close and exciting game but we lost to District 7, Warwick from Newport News, VA with a score of 11-7. We won our second game 15-3” on Saturday morning against District 6, Charles Peete from Portsmouth. Kathy was sending photos, which we’ll include in a later update.
