Summer photos: A South African safari

swoco_summerlionSMALL.jpg

Molly Bullington sends us this photo and says:

My husband and I just got back from a wonderful trip to South Africa where he ran the Comrades ultra-Marathon and we went on a safari. This male lion took time to pose for us and then let out a loud roar to find out where his friends were. We hear the other lions respond not long after. Our field guide told us that a lion’s roar can be heard as far as 10 kilometers away!

For that, we've put the Bullingtons on our Swoco Summer '08 map -- the first one in Africa, for sure!

So what are you doing this summer? Send us photos and we'll add you to our map, too. It doesn't have to be an exotic trip to another continent, either.

Our previous entry in the Swoco Summer Photos series was Aidan Wright, who went fishing in Carvins Cove.
