Cave Spring volleyball JVs win over Rustburg

swoco_cavespringjvvolleyballSMALL.jpg

This morning's sports pages of The Roanoke Times tell us that Cave Spring's varsity volleyball team defeated Rustburg 3-0 on Thursday. But they don't typically report about junior varsity sports.

We do here at SWoCo (when we get them.)

So we're pleased to report that the Cave Spring JV volleyball team also defeated Rustburg -- by 2 games to 1. The JVs lost the first game, but then, in the words of parent Quigg Lawrence, "whooped Rustburg in the next two games."

If anyone has anything else to add about the game -- further accounts, scores, stats -- you can click "comment" below or email us at news@swo-co.com

Here's a picture of the Cave Spring JV volleyball team. Other team photos can be found in our photo gallery of Cave Spring fall sports teams. If you haven't seen it already, today's print edition of SWoCo is dedicated to a preview of Cave Spring fall sports. (Next week: Hidden Valley, North Cross and Faith Christian.)

If you have sports photos involving teams or players from Southwest Roanoke County, you can share them at news@swo-co.com. Doesn't matter what level -- varsity, junior varsity, middle school, rec league -- if kids from Swoco are playing it, we want to help you show it to the world in full color.
