Cave Spring High School senior Greg Mackey has been selected as the 2008-9 Knight by principal Steve Spangler. Being named the Knight is the highest honor any student can achieve at Cave Spring High School. Mackey becomes the 48th student to be honored with the title of Knight at Cave Spring High School. Mackey is the SCA president-elect, captain of the Cave Spring boys' basketball team and vice-president of the Beta Club. He attended Boys' State at Liberty University over the summer and has attended the HOBY Leadership Conference in Newport News.

"Greg is an outstanding student and embodies the qualities of a Knight," said CSHS principal Steve Spangler. "We all are very proud of Greg and he will represent the Cave Spring student body very well," said Spangler.

Probably the most notable Cave Spring Knight is former NFL star Tiki Barber (1992-1993 school year).
