September 18, 2008North Cross Raiders take it to the TornadoesWe have two reports in on North Cross varsity volleyball this week -- one win, one loss. Here's what Coach Heather Donaho has to report: Raiders Take It To The Tornadoes The Varsity volleyball team defeated the Timberlake Tornadoes in three straight games in a non-conference matchup. Outstanding defense and serving helped the Raiders to victory. Sarah Jessee had a game high 17 assists and provided 4 kills. The other attacks were distributed to the other players rather evenly. Marli Dabareiner led the kill column with 5 kills. Anna Black, Emma Caveness, and Kaki Comer each had 3 kills. Mary McConaughy and Olivia Langhorn each had 1 kill on the night. Kaki Comer led the defense with 6 digs. The team collectively complied 10 service aces with Sharnice Mayo obtaining her first ace of the season. The Varsity volleyball team played a tough match against the Northside Vikings. It seemed as though the Raiders could just not get a run going. Sarah Jessee had 6 assists on the night and Marli Dabareiner led the attack with 4 kills. OTHER RECENT NORTH CROSS COVERAGE: * Sept. 16: North Cross 6th graders take orientation trip |
