Details on Saturday’s fund-raiser for Coach King

On Tuesday, we posted a list of upcoming events to raise money to help Hidden Valley girls’ basketball coach Brenda King, who is fighting cancer.

One of those is a multi-team basketball scrimmage this Saturday in Pulaski, where King once coached.

Today, Cecilia Riegert of Blacksburg sends us the details on that event:

Pulsaki County High School will be sponsoring an official girls’ varsity basketball scrimmage to raise money for Coach Brenda King and her family this Saturday, Nov. 22nd at Pulaski County High School, from 9am -3pm.

The following high shools will be participating: Hidden Valley, Bassett, Auburn, Blacksburg, Cave Spring, Radford, Narrows.

Many other members of the community are volunteering or sponsoring this event.

Coach King was the Lady Cougar basketball coach before taking a job this year with Hidden Valley. Lady Cougar basketball players will be wearing awareness ribbons on their uniforms in support for their beloved former coach.
