Jefferson Forest Wrestling Tournament
It’s the dawn of a new season and as the sun rose and gleamed. Scraping off the frost from the windshiedls knowing that this new chapter in Hidden Valley Youth Wrestling (comprised of Hidden Valley, Cave Spring, Mt. Pleasant) and a new chapter in life for this year’s first time wrestlers, for the others who have journeyed down this road, another day begins. Hidden Valley Youth Wrestlers journeyed to Bedford, Va to participate in the annual Jefferson Forest Wrestling Tournament held a Forest Middle School on December 6, 2008. Veteran wrestlers as well as rookie participants made quite an impression for the first tournament of the season.
Elementary School Division

New Elementary School Wrestlers
The freshman class for Hidden Valley Youth Wrestling would not disappoint their peers in their inaugural tournament.
Kale Doolan and Noah Bushman appeared the most relaxed on the mat. Both wrestlers “take no prisoner” style made it difficult for their opponents to react.
Doolan won his first 2 matches (against Liberty and Smith Mountain Lake) with 1st period pins. And his last opponent (Franklin Co) by Tech Fall 18- 2 in the 2nd period. Noah Bushman aggressive style led him to pin his opponents in short order and win a gold medal.
Cole Cowher 1st place won all three of his matches in high scoring back and forth matches. All of his matches went down to the wire and at the end Cole was the winner.
Jack Cowher won two of his bouts with pins and another on points to take 2nd place.
Isaac Chitwood won the first two matches out of the three he wrestled. He earned a 2nd place metal at the tournament.
Zach Long had a good start to the season with a 2-1 start which was good enough to take the silver medal.
