Photos: Cave Spring Rescue Squad Open House
The Cave Spring Rescue Squad held their fall open house on Saturday, September 12 from noon to 4 p.m. at 3206 Valley Forge Avenue.
The event was free and open to the public and featured a vehicle extrication demonstration in which those who attended were able to see firsthand how the 78 lbs. “jaws of life” (operated by two people) are put to work. Crew members gave the audience a first-hand look into how they would rescue someone stuck inside of a vehicle after an accident.
There was also music, membership information, give-a-ways, blood pressure checks and food. It was also a time for people to purchase their fall chicken barbecue tickets. The community could even get a tour of the rescue squad and the Cave Spring Rescue Squad building.bl
If you are interested in volunteering or want further information come by the station any evening between 18:00 and 22:00, or during the weekends. You may also send an email to membership@csrs.roacoxmail.net. Applications can be downloaded from their website: www.csrescue.org.
