Madison VanDuyne of Botetourt County was named the new Miss Roanoke Valley on Saturday. Traditionally, the pageant has been held at Cave Spring High School, but this year the pageant moved to Mill Mountain Theatre in downtown Roanoke because of renovations at the school.

Still, the pageant had a distinct Southwest Roanoke County flavor:

* Abby Erdman, a student at Hidden Valley High School, was named Miss Teen Roanoke Valley.
* And two students from North Cross School tied for Little Miss Roanoke Valley, so both were awarded the honor: Emily Allara and Rachel Baldwin.
* Meanwhile, Danielle Foutz of Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Franklin County was named the Miss Pre-Teen Roanoke Valley.
