Here are some photos from the Roanoke Valley Lacrosse Club Warhawks’ recent weekend playing Richmond teams.  The Warhawks are largely comprised of High School boys from Cave Spring and Hidden Valley.

Bent Mountain Women’s Club annual Yard and Bake Sale will be held May 15, 8-3PM.  Proceeds support scolarships and community projects.

National College (www.national-college.edu) in the Roanoke Valley has released the Dean’s List for the Winter Terms. The following students achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 and thus achieving the honor and privilege of being placed on the Dean’s List:

The Stealerz Fastpitch 12U girls softball team kick off the 2010 season with a Championship in the Play the Valley Youth Challenge played in Salem Va on April 10-11. The Stealerz went 6-0 for the weekend and marks their second Championship since forming the team in mid August of last year. BLACKSBURG, Va., April 27, 2010 – Sara Equi of Roanoke, Va., 24018, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, has been named to the national list of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges this year.

Each year, Virginia Tech selects students to be honored for their academic achievement and demonstrated leadership by naming them to the list.
