The American Associations of University Women (AAUW) Used-Book Sale

Saturday, February 5, 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday, February 6, 1 PM to 4 PM

What a perfect time for the economy-conscious book worm to realize gargantuan savings and to find some good book for winter reading!

For over 40 years, the AAUW has been “going green” with its annual used-book sale. New for 2011 is the addition of a winter sale in February. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 from 10 AM to 7 PM at the same time as Tons of Fun at Tanglewood Mall. The sale will continue on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 1 PM to 4 PM. The location of the sale is on the upper level, across from Belk, next to Star City Batteries.

Shoppers can choose from thousands of used books, records, CDs, DVDs, magazines, sheet music, hardbacks and paperbacks.

You can find “almost new” lovingly-read children’s books, best-sellers, self-help books, law, gardening, nature, crafts, sociology, medicine, psychology, communications, cookbooks, drama, history, reference, business, studio art, art history, science, biography, photography, gardening, religion, philosophy, magic, education.  And much more!

Proceeds provide college scholarships for Roanoke Valley high school senior girls and for women returning to college after working and/or raising a family.  Also benefiting are AAUW national graduate scholarships and community projects of the local branch.

Good cause! Good Bargains!  Good for the environment!
